Global Health Issues

Empower, Enable, Improve

Education empowers men and women in remote communities.  Most people do not have access to information that we take for granted.  We can make a significant difference by teaching basic healthcare principles.

This enables communities to better care for their own people.  Their efforts are muliplied by teaching their children and local community members to carry on the practices they learn.

Promoting safe healthcare practices not only saves lives, it improves the standard and quality of living for the under-privileged.

GHT embraces a wholistic approach to health training by integrating evangelism and discipleship with disease prevention and community-based development.

Life for the under priviledged is difficult.

The average wage in many places is about $2 per day.  Most people do not have running water or electricity.  This means they have to haul their water, which is no easy task.  They are poorly clothed.  They live without their basic needs being met.  Their work and education opportunities are very limited if they exist at all. Many people are starving, and may not even have one meal a day. Each day is a struggle just to survive.

Medical care is not within the reach of poor people, and they die from preventable illnesses that could be treated inexpensively.  Many women birth at home on dirt floors, unattended by anyone. In addition, many people suffer from oppression and abuse.  The circumstances in which they live often cause them to lose hope.

Because we genuinely care for their health and physical needs and work to bring improvement to their lives, we have the opportunity to share the love of Jesus in a profoundly tangible way.  Join us as we work to help the poor.

Cycle Beads: highly effective and easy way to plan or prevent pregnancy naturally.

19 Million Children Worldwide are Affected by Severe Malnutrion
If maternal and child nutrition interventions were implemented in poor countries, deaths could be reduced by a quarter, and a third of growth stunting could be prevented.  When we go into poor communities and teach nutrition, we can significantly improve the lives of mothers and babies. Intergenerational effects of undernutrions will take many years to eliminate.  Promotion of breastfeeding and improved feeding practices will reduce childhood disease.  The period of life between pregnancy and two years old is extremely important.
